Urban Tree Series. These trees surround me in Smoketown/Shelby Park in Louisville, KY where I live and paint. Their lively individuality in the face of an exceedingly harsh environment inspires me. I hope these "Tree Portraits" encourage reflection and conversation about the importance of trees as a necessary and valuable "lung" for a city's urban core. Early in 2020, I exhibited these at Kleinhelter Gallery in New Albany, IN, and will post more as I complete them.
